| We have found horses to be born with their basic temperament. This is further refined with handling from birth. What we wanted was horses with common sense, which we have accomplished. Our line breeding program has created horses we feel safe with small children on their back, yet a horseman can get on them and move cattle, catch a calf. Living in Wyoming, stability on a mountain was a necessary trait. Your life depends on your horse at times. This is about stability of feet and head.
Now we have retired to Missouri and are full time
with the horses.
We look for the smoothest ride that can be created, for the person with hours in the saddle or in the show arena.
Anyone who spends time around our place wants one of our horses or wants to breed to our studs. The blood lines are about 85% foundation. For example, our stud Mocho Chino Bar is 85% foundation and 6% Three Bars. Consistent repeats are Doc Bar, Sugar Bars, Leo, Poco Bueno, Doc’s Sug, Blackburn, Brandenbar, Dash for Cash, Two Eyed Jack, Peppy San, Freckles Play Boy, Joe Reed and Jessie James.
When we have pulled in throughbred blood, it is only of the greats, Mr. prospector (all time leading sire), Primonetta (horse of the year), Miswaki (sire of 87 stakes winners). |
